Poverty Alleviation Cooperation of International Organizations in China

　　【The Fifth Poverty Reduction Program of the World Bank】 From April 15 to 16, the project negotiation meeting on the Fifth Poverty Reduction Program of the World Bank was held in World Bank Office, Beijing. Relevant leaders of the International Department of Ministry of Finance and Department of International Cooperation and Social Poverty Alleviation of LGOP and the project managers of Fifth Poverty Reduction Program of the World Bank signed the project loan agreement, grant agreement and project contract respectively on behalf of the domestic and foreign party. On June 10, the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors formally approved the legal texts of the project; the legal texts were formally signed on August 25 and the project came into effect on November 16, marking the Fifth Poverty Reduction Program of the World Bank entered the complementation period.

　　【Study on East-West Pairing-off Cooperation for Poverty Reduction in China】In December 2010, through LGOP, the Foreign Capital Project Management Center (FCPMC) applied to the Ministry of Finance the project of “East-West Pairing-off Cooperation for Poverty Reduction in China” and obtained grants of $ 300,000 from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for technical assistance. The project invited five domestic and foreign experts to carry out in-depth research on rural finance, community’s self-development, rural industrial development, east-west cooperation for poverty alleviation and monitoring and assessment to make preparations and provide technical support for the design of the loan program.

　　【IPRCC capacity building projects】  The total investment to IPRCC capacity building projects was $ 4 million, of which $ 1 million was from the United Nations Development Programme and $ 3 million was issued by the Chinese government. The project was implemented by IPRCC. The project was proposed on the basis of the establishment of IPRCC and the implementation period is for 2009 to 2013. In 2010, IPRCC signed three cooperation memorandums or letters of intent with the UK Research Institute of International Development, Columbia Presidential Agency for Social Action and as well as UNDP China. The letter of intent on the “Construction of China-Africa Window” signed with UNDP China further deepened the cooperation between IPRCC and UNDP.

　　【Research under the Regional Knowledge and Partnership Networks for Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Growth】  As a technical support project of the Asian Development Bank, the project took into effect in April 2009. IPRCC is responsible for relevant research on the poverty reduction and inclusiveness growth in China and Central Asia, information collection and conference coordination, etc.
