Poverty Alleviation of National Tourism Administration of P. R. C

　　【Overview】 In 2010, National Tourism Administration of P.R.C implemented the state’s deployment for poverty alleviation and development and continued to increase efforts on anti-poverty work. While going on with the fixed-point poverty alleviation and poverty reduction in tourism in key regions, National Tourism Administration actively promoted the poverty relief in tourism through developing rural tourism, eco-tourism and folk customs tourism and achieved good results.

　　Since 2002, National Tourism Administration has seriously implemented the spirit of the "Outline for Poverty Alleviation and Development of China's Rural Areas (2001-2010)" and the "Circular on Promoting Fixed-point Poverty Alleviation" (Ting Zi [2010] No. 2) and always regarded poverty alleviation in tourism as one of priorities in anti-poverty work. It established the anti-poverty work mechanism, carried out in-depth field research to learn the situation timely, strengthened guidance and adopted various measures to support the development of tourism industry in Jiangkou County and Bijie of Guizhou – the designated impoverished areas for its counterpart support, which boosted the local economic and social development and increased the income of farmers.

　　【Mechanism for poverty alleviation】Poverty alleviation in tourism has been one of the priorities of the anti-poverty work of the National Tourism Administration. Chairman of China National Tourism Administration Shao Weiqi has been to Jiangkou County for many times and gave important instructions on the anti-poverty work in tourism industry. The party committee meeting specializes in study of policies to support the development of tourism industry in Jiangkou and Bijie Experimental Area. The Division of Planning and Finance, as a special agency for poverty alleviation in tourism industry, attended the meetings held by LGOP and the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee many times and cooperated with LGOP in the anti-poverty work.

　　【Fixed-point poverty alleviation】 In 2010, under the guidance of scientific outlook on development, combined with the construction of new socialist countryside, based on its industrial functions and giving play to the department advantages, the National Tourism Administration continued to support the development of tourism industry in Jiangkou County by policies, project construction and financial aid.

　　In 2010, the National Tourism Administration allocated 2 million Yuan respectively for the local tourism projects of Tongren and Jiangkou County, mainly for the construction of tourist reception centers. In addition, after Jiangkou County was affected by disasters, it issued subsidies of 100,000 Yuan for drought relief.

　　【Poverty alleviation in key regions】 In 2010, the National Tourism Administration allocated a total of 2 million Yuan of tourism development fund for Bijie, mainly for the construction of tourist reception centers, of which 1 million Yuan was subsidy for the construction of Bijie Dafang Tourist Service Center and 1 million Yuan for the construction of One Hundred-li Cuckoo Tourist Service Center.

　　In May 2010, the National Tourism Administration invited relevant experts to participate in the review meeting on the “Overall Planning for the Development of Tourism Industry in Bijie Experimental Area (2010-2020)”, and all the experts agreed to approve the “Overall Planning”.

　　In 2010, the National Tourism Administration supported the construction of national 4A scenic spots in the One Hundred-li Cuckoo Scenery of Bijie.
