1. Report on the work of the government proposed to lift more than ten million people out of poverty this year. To “fight poverty” and to “explore new ways to alleviate poverty through development” is mentioned in this year's government work
report. The report also sets an explicit goal to lift more than ten million people out of poverty. Liu Yongfu, the head of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council, holds that scientific and targeted measures of poverty alleviation must be
taken to achieve the goal.

2. Report on the work of the government indicates in the work arrangements for 2014 that the government will improve conditions of schools in poor areas where compulsory education is not well implemented. The number of rural students from poor areas enrolled in key colleges and universities will again be increased by more than 10%, and this will give rural children more opportunities to receive higher education. 4. Jiaduobao Group (JDB) and Intel joined hands on constructing poverty alleviation with an investment of 20 million yuan. China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), JDB and Intel China together holds a news conference of “Going
in company with public welfare” Development Program of NGO Cooperative Communities in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This program is for corporations to work together to support the development of a targeted NGO, as well as a creative
application of constructing poverty alleviation. A total of 20 million yuan is planned in this program to support the development of 16 grassroots level NGOs.

5. Qinhuangdao Disabled Persons' Federation helps the disabled persons to shake off poverty, investing more than 70 million yuan within five years. Over 40,000 poverty-stricken disabled persons have been supported and over 20,000
disabled persons have been lifted out of poverty. The disabled persons’ livelihood has been effectively improved. Meanwhile, the Federation raises funds of more than three million yuan per year. As a result, above 6000 poverty-stricken disabled persons are listed as the key rehabilitation targets to receive key rehabilitation services and
assistances.

6. Shanxi Province plans to audit the poverty alleviation funds of 58 impoverished counties. This audit will be mainly conducted in the way of cross auditing, with a focus on the allocation and usage of the poverty alleviation funds.
The targets of this audit are the relevant departments of poverty alleviation and finance as well as the project entities using the poverty alleviation funds in the 20 in-area national-level key poor counties, one in-area national-level non-key poor county, 15 outside-area national-level key poor counties and 22 provincial-level poor counties in Shanxi Province.

7. Jiangxi Provincial Department of Finance issued 11,830 thousand yuan as the subsidy for the teachers supporting education in poor areas. The special fund subsidizes the teachers in outlying and poverty-stricken areas as well as the old revolutionary base areas, granting for the work allowance, travel expenses and accident insurance, etc. At present, up to 2367 person-times of supporting-education teachers in the whole province have participated in the work to alleviation poverty by teachers.

8. Henan Province allocates 1.4 billion yuan as poverty alleviation fund to lift rural population out of poverty. This special fund is mainly used to reduce poverty in 1000 poor villages, to help 200,000 poor people to get re-employed after training,
to relocate over 50,000 poor people, and to lift 1.2 million rural people out of poverty step by step.
